On September 18, 2018, the NSW Cyber Security Network held its first public event - Cyber Connections for a Stronger NSW - a round-table for industry, universities, government and students to identify the key requirements for robust cyber security in New South Wales, and how this might be achieved.
At the event, the 86 attendees heard from nine industry speakers and seven university speakers. They were invited to take part in break-out workshops and engage with an expert panel discussion – Leveraging NSW Cyber Capabilities for the Future.
Panellists Louise Chappell, Director, Australian Human Rights Institute; Brian Williams, National Security and Solutions Manager, NEC, and Richard Harris, Chief Information Officer, Hunter Water, led a lively discussion. The panel was followed by break-out workshops where industry and university representatives explored opportunities for collaboration.
